Most important Databases

  • SciFinder Scholar (Chemical Abstracts database) accessible from a TU Dortmund IP address only
    Text and structure search, substance and literature data.
    Citations are recorded in the data sets since October, 1994.

    For using SciFinder web version, registration at CAS is necessary. Registration is possible in the IP range of TU Dortmund only. In case of an error message, cancel cookies and start procedure again.

    For registration you need a TU Dortmund e-mail address. Your user-name must be composed of 5 to 15 signs (no numerals).Password must be composed of 7 to 15 signs and must comprise at least 3 of the following type of signs:

    • letters
    • mixed capital and small letters
    • numerals
    • special characters (fx. @, %, &, *, #)

    After your registration you will obtain a confirmation mail. To verify registration you must click the link sent with the mail. Registration and verification have to be completed within 48 hours from the same PC. After this you can access your SciFinder account from every PC within TU Dortmund IP range.

    For using all functionalities of SciFinder, Java plugin 1.6 is necessary.

    After successful registration you get direct access on SciFinder web version via https://scifinder.cas.org/scifinder

  • Biosis Previews 1969-2004 accessible from a TU Dortmund IP address only - Accessible throughout Germany: Information on Biosis Previews
  • Web of Knowledge (Science Citation Index) accessible from a TU Dortmund IP address only - Info zu Web of Knowledge
    International bibliographic records of articles with abstracts. Accessible 1945 to present. Contains:
